I know that the Golf has grown a bit since the first generation..
But this seems a tad too much really.

I'd say people just aren't that crazy anymore. Everyone is on about safety stuff(not that's a bad thing) which makes car grow generation to generation.
Just look at the pillars on the mk1 or mk2. No matter how fun they might be, but i'd rather not have a fender bender in something that's thick as a straw versus a ton and a half tank like above.

I agree on that part. My point was that a 4 axle flatbed is slightly overkill when it comes to transport a VW Golf :)

Last year when my bike developed a hole in the fuel tank, AAA sent a 3 axle flatbed to tow it.
That is overkill. At least the Golf takes up an appreciable amount of room on the truck.

Sure is odd. You'd of thought the best thing to transport a VW would of been the VW Transporter.
